biographyBill and Gloria Gaitherís daughter Amy Gaither-Hayes followed her mother's academic leanings and teaches at DePauw University.
Since she was a young child, Amy had been performing for live audiences, singing on radio jingles and recording in the studio. She studied acting at Interlochen Center for the Arts, received her BA in Theatre and English from Vanderbilt University, and her MFA in Acting from the University of Nebraska. She continues to study dance and movement intermittently.
Amy has written and performed in several productions of a one woman show called ďAtomic Pomegranate,Ē as well as directed and acted in many other productions.
She has taught at the University of Nebraska, Indiana Wesleyan University, Anderson University, and has been teaching at DePauw since 2003. She and her husband, Andrew Hayes, have three children and live in Greencastle.
