‘Deep work’ is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. Coined by author and professor Cal Newport on his popular blog Study Hacks, deep work will make you better at what you do, let you achieve more in less time and provide the sense of true fulfilment that comes from the mastery of a skill. In short, deep work is like a superpower in our increasingly competitive economy. And yet most people, whether knowledge workers in noisy open-plan offices or creatives struggling to sharpen their vision, have lost the ability to go deep – spending their days instead in a frantic blur of email and social media, not even realising there’s a better way.A mix of cultural criticism and actionable advice, DEEP WORK takes the reader on a journey through memorable stories — from Carl Jung building a stone tower in the woods to focus his mind, to a social media pioneer buying a round-trip business class ticket to Tokyo to write a book free from distraction in the air — and surprising suggestions, such as the claim that most serious professionals should quit social media and that you should practice being bored. Put simply: developing and cultivating a deep work practice is one of the best decisions you can make in an increasingly distracted world and this book will point the way.

Delivery to the UK is FREE if you spend over £10.

Large, Heavy or Oversized Orders

Our standard delivery charges are designed to cover the vast majority of orders. However, occasionally an order may be particularly large, heavy or bulky, meaning that the actual cost of delivery is significantly higher than the standard delivery charge shown at checkout.

This is more likely to apply to larger orders being delivered to Northern Ireland, Europe or destinations outside mainland UK, although it may occasionally apply to other orders.

If your order requires an additional delivery charge, we will contact you before dispatching your order to explain the additional cost and obtain your agreement. We will never take an additional delivery payment without contacting you first.

If you do not wish to pay the additional delivery charge, you will have the option to cancel the affected order for a full refund.

European and Rest of World Deliveries

Please note that we are still shipping to the EU and the rest of the world but due to Brexit there maybe delays and customs charges in the country of your delivery. Unfortunately this is outside of our control.

Checking The Progress Of Your Order

You will be sent an email informing you when your order has been dispatched. In addition to this you can follow the progress of each item you have ordered by checking your account details (login and click on ‘My Account’ on the top right of the screen).

National Holidays, Christmas & New Year Ordering

Our warehouse and offices will be closed on national holidays. Orders placed during these times will be processed upon commencement of business.
