Heralding a new season in the life of multi-platinum selling artist Steven Curtis Chapman, Worship and Believe is his first worship record in a career spanning over three decades.

This is a new direction for Chapman, a move towards an awakening in worship music.

Enlisting some of the biggest names in worship, Chapman's new album features worship leaders like Matt Redman (10,000 Reasons), Matt Maher (Saints and Sinners), members of Rend Collective (Campfire), and even the drummer for pop-group One Direction.

This new period in Chapman's music is one inspired by his love of worship music as well as his time on The Story tour with Texan Pastor Randy Frazee. During the tour Chapman first hear about a Church curriculum called Believe which centred around ten key beliefs and virtues of being a Christian.

"As Randy (Frazee) talked about how important it is for us as the Church to know what we believe and why, I began to get excited thinking, 'I want to write those songs, create those musical declarations that we as the church can sing together.'"

Talking about his past, Chapman shares that "I always loved singing worship songs and people responded when I'd sing them during shows. They were what I held on to so tightly when we lost our daughter Maria, but the timing was never right for me to make a full record of them."

Chapman's twenty-third album is fuelled by an awakening to Church and a desire to hold tight to the comfort and joy that comes with pure worship.
