This is the first in a two-book saga that explores the complicated relationships between mothers and daughters over four generations. Hildie’s calling as a nurse gives her independence, if not the respect of her mother. Each woman is forced to confront her faulty, but well-meaning desire to help her daughter find her God-given place in the world. This saga is about breaking hurtful generational cycles and moving toward reconciling and restoring life’s most important relationships.
