God's Advent people are all around us. Ever present is the God who came to dwell among us. Our Advent discipline and our Advent delight will be to discover him and to attend on him through our observations of his presence. This book is a guide, a few suggestions on how we might observe Advent in the spirit of our ancestors but in the context of our busy lives. Alec, Lynn, Steve, Brenda and Jack are God's Advent people, living real and hectic lives amid the many and varied pressures of the pre-Christmas seasons. As we hear their story we may reflect on their life and circumstances. We may want to offer them advice on how they should live their life! We may be tempted to suggest that if they had our faith, life would be much better for them. We may, however, simply observe them and contemplate what they teach us about the Advent God.
